advent #5: the last-minute-fun gift guide

so, the last thursday before christmas. this is the last xmas related post, so it better be good, right? please don't put so much pressure on me!

most of us leave the heavy shopping for these last few days. at least the portuguese tradition follows that pattern. 'there's always time', even when you see yourself at the end of the 23rd overwhelmed by the number of bags/number of items on the list ratio.

to help you with the last-minute-lack-of-imagination, i leave you with a gift guide put together by the lovely joanna goddard from a cup of jo. from your better half, to your best friend, son, mom, dad... she picked items for everyone. and fun ones! go have a look and share the joy!

have a lovely christmas, full of laughter, lights, chocolate and love :)*

advent #4: a very rosie christmas

so, i guess we can see a pattern here. a musical one. i really tried to find other things, like decoration tips, recipes, gift guides... and there are so many out there! but music speaks louder, and here i am. i had to share another of my christmas albuns, one that keeps playing during the holidays.

rosie's calm tunes keeps us in our toes, but in a good way. we tend to walk softly, move gently, cook with the heart... am i crazy to put so much pressure on music? oh well ;)

have yourself a very rosie christmas :)

advent #3: a very she & him christmas

less is more. most of the times we don't even mean it but in this case... her soothing and timeless voices and his accustic guitar are more than enough to warm a autumn/winter day. she and him, zooey deschanel and m. ward, are one of the most spreaders-of-warmth out there. the simplicity is key in their work and i find myself calming down with their songs. most of them don't even seem to belong to the 21st century and that is quite refreshing. so i was thrilled to know that they were releasing a christmas album and i couldn't help myself: i got it! and as most of these lovely things, we shouldn't keep them to ourselves :)

these songs, among many others, will be played non-stop during christmas days (and christmas cooking, of course). care to share your tunes for the holidays? thank you :)

advent #2: holiday guide (for the home)

(c) victoria smith from sfgirlbybay

i've been following victoria's website for a few years and she never stops to amaze me with the creativity and the guest posts from such talented fellows. i even got to know pinterest through her, since she was one of the pioneers. she organized a list of people to get the first invites - and i was lucky to be one of many!

this time, she introduces us to a holiday guide. an interior decoration one. several ways to style your home for xmas. you can take just a detail and work with it or go all nuts and re-do the living room! and it's funny to see several of my favourite bloggers featured there!

enjoy the pages (and victoria's lovely space) and get inpired!
